Gary Wayne Pruitt Obituary
June 19, 2026
Gary Wayne Pruitt, born in San Pedro, California, and a longtime resident of Arkansas, passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, laughter, and unwavering love for those fortunate enough to know him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Pruitt and Marlene Fuller, and his daughter Alecia Pruitt.
Gary was a devoted father, cherished brother, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. He is survived by his brothers, Steve Pruitt and Dennis Pruitt, his sisters, Carla Pruitt, Felicia Pruitt, and Kenia Knight, all of whom shared countless memories and a lifelong bond with him.
Above all else, Gary loved his family. He was the proud father of Alecia Pruitt, Jonathan Pruitt, Derek Pruitt, and Travis Pruitt, and his love and guidance lives through them. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Stellar, Skye, Colton, Devin, and Christen, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Gary found happiness in life’s simple moments. He loved traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. He treasured gathering with friends and family and some of his favorite memories were made simply sitting with his children, watching favorite television shows, listening to music, laughing together, and enjoying each other’s company.
What made Gary truly special was his heart. He had a rare ability to meet people where they were. Rather than expecting others to share his interests, Gary took genuine interest in theirs. Whether it was a conversation, a hobby, or simply spending time together, he made everyone feel important, understood, and accepted.
To say Gary was kind would be an understatement. His generosity, compassion, and willingness to help others touched countless lives. He treated everyone with respect and warmth, never hesitating to offer encouragement, friendship, or a helping hand. His gentle spirit and selfless nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Gary’s greatest legacy is not found in material things, but in the love he gave, the memories he created, and the countless lives he made better simply by being himself. Though his family and friends will miss him deeply, they take comfort in knowing that his love and example will continue to live on through those he touched.
The world was made gentler by Gary Wayne Pruitt’s presence, and those who knew him were better because of it.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.
A graveside service for Gary will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Freedom Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas with Bro. Joe Davis officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral & Cremation – Mansfield.
